Dear Students,
Tomorrow you will begin taking the Hawaii State Assessment. This is your opportunity to demonstrate what you know and have learned this year. I believe in you! Do your B-E-S-T! :)
Tonight, please sleep early. Tomorrow morning, I recommend that you eat a healthy breakfast and come to school on time. These are your assignments for tonight:
I. Language Arts
a. Read 30 minutes and record the pages read. The genre for this month is Science fiction.
b. Bare Book project: design the cover of your Bare book and write the Dedication page. (Draft of cover and Dedication page due Wednesday.)
The Bare book will hold all of the stories that you have written this year. The cover should show your creativity. You can show some of the characters or scenes from your stories. All pictures need to be hand-drawn.
You should include the following information: The Title, By _________ (write your full name), Hokulani Elmentary School, Room C-5, School Year 2009.
The Dedication page should have a title. Write who you are dedicating this book to and the reasons why. You will be typing this page.
On Monday, you need to bring a colored picture (photo or hand-drawn illustration) of the person(s) you are dedicating the book to. (Typed Dedication page, picture and colored cover of book due Monday.)
II. Math
a. Mrs. Dela Cruz: Complete angle worksheet #1-12 (both sides of worksheet).
b. Mrs. Kaneshiro: net worksheet.
III. Science
a. Plant report due tomorrow.
IV. Other
a. May Overnighter field trip: Signed and completed parent permission forms due this Thursday.
b. Show parents communication folder.

For the May overnighter, it was several forms stapled together. The first page is yellow which is the Travel form, then there is the swimming permission form and the last page covers appropriate behavior. I sent the forms home the week before Spring recess.
