Homework Assignments

Dear Students,
Wow! What a fantastic week we had! A special mahalo to Mr. and Mrs. Lau (Natalie's parents) who helped make our excursion a memorable one at the Hale Koa hotel and the Double Tree Alana hotel. :)

Over the weekend, please ask your parents the correct spelling of your middle name. When we rehearse this week for the Aloha Assembly, we will be annoucing your full name as you enter the MPB.

Please work on your parent thank you letters. The typed letters will be due on Friday. Also, we will be going to DARE day at the Stan Sheriff Center (U.H. auditorium) on Tuesday. We will return to school for lunch. These are your assignments for the weekend:

I. Language Arts
a. Read 30 minutes and record pages read. Total pages read for week #6 and have your parents initial next to the total. Have parents sign homework page for week #6. (If you did not bring your Reading Record to school yesterday, you still need to have week #6 signed.)
b. Bare Book: you may begin writing your All About the Author. Create a descriptive title. This writing piece will have 5 paragraphs: interesting lead, family background (highlights about your family, where you were born and raised, etc.), interests and hobbies, memorable 5th grade moments and friends, conclusion -- where you see yourself in 5 years. Be specific.
You will be drawing your self-portrait this week. Typed All About Author will be due on Friday.

II. Other
a. Aloha Assembly: boys -- let your parents know that you will need a long sleeve white shirt (with a collar) and long black pants.
