Homework Assignments

Dear Students,
Tomorrow you will be taking the Hawaii State Assessment test in Reading. Please sleep early tonight after you finish your assignments. Tomorrow, please eat a light breakfast. Just like the math assessment, do you best and "conquer" this exam!

Please remind your parents that we will have early school dismissal tomorrow at 1:15 p.m. Also, you will take home your 3rd quarter report cards, organizational binders and quadrirama tomorrow. These are today's assignments:

I. Language Arts
a. Reading record/homework folder: read for 30 minutes daily and record pages read. The genre this month is Realistic Fiction.

b. Kid Biz: read 4 news articles and complete 5 steps. Entries #9-12 due next week Monday.

c. Writing: 1) Type your dedication page. Type the name(s) of the people you are dedicating your book to and the reasons why. Be specific when you share your reasons. 2) Color the cover page of your Bare Book. 3) Find a photograph or color a picture of the person(s) you are dedicating book to. These items are due this Friday.

II. Math
a. Mrs. D.C.: 1) Make corrections to TB pg. 566 #6-22 (evens) 2) complete WB pg. 139 #1-11 (all) and WB pg. 140 #1-9 (all). Due Thursday.

b. Mrs. K: 1) complete TB pg. 492 (all). Due Thursday.

c. Math Review: Make corrections to TB pg. 606.

d. XtraMath: complete 1 assessment everyday.

III. Other
a. Japanese: 1) complete questions on back side of worksheet 2: School timetable at an Elementary School in Japan. 2) Study for next week Wednesday’s quiz on January-June (6 words).

b. Social Studies: complete last event -- Intolerable Acts. Review and make sure all information is completed (w/quality) and all panels colored neatly. Due tomorrow.

c. Year book message: type out your message for the year book page. You may share your favorite memories of Hokulani. Things that you enjoyed doing (ex. projects) or memorable excursions you went on (including Big Island, Japan -- the Cultural Exchange and East Coast trips). You can share about the wonderful friends you have made and the people who have guided you such as our principal, teachers, counselor, etc. You can also give advice to the 4th graders on how to succeed in 5th grade. Type and save it on your USB drive. Due next week Tuesday.

d. American Red Cross (Japan Relief): if possible, bring in coins for fundraising drive. :)
