Dear Students,
I was really proud of the students who presented their student council speeches today. You did an excellent job in sharing what your qualifications were and the reasons why you wanted to represent our classroom. All of you are w-i-n-n-e-r-s because of your willingness to help and serve others. If you were not selected today, there will be many other opportunities for you to help in our classroom and in our school community. :)
If you received feedback from me for your "All About Me" stories, your revisions will be due this Thursday. For those of you who haven't received my feedback, your revisions will be due on Friday. I will be giving you time on Thursday and Friday to type your final story. Final typed story will be due next week Tuesday.
Please study for tomorrow's Japanese Quiz #1. Put in maximum e-f-f-o-r-t! These are your assignments:
I. Language Arts
a. Reading record: read 30 minutes and record pages read.
b. Wordly Wise: complete 4C & 4D. Write and describe words #8-15.
(Due tomorrow) Test on Friday.
c. Reading "The Kid Who Ran for President": complete Chapter 2
#1-3 questions with q-u-a-l-i-t-y. :)
d. Writing: read over my comments. Revise and edit your story (if you received my comments). Final typed story is due next week Tuesday.
e. Kid Biz: read 2 news articles and complete 5 steps. Record information on Kid Biz sheet. (total of 7 articles due next week Monday)
II. Math
a. Mrs. D.C.: 1) Make corrections to TB pages 15 & 17 on folder paper. 2) Complete "Ants" 10-step problem. (Due tomorrow)
b. Mrs. K: 1) TB 16 sets A-D (all)
III. Other
a. Successful Student Diagram: 1) Write first name (using bubble letters) on top of paper. 2) Write and illustrate the skills, behavior and attitudes that you need to have as a successful student. 3) Color. (Due tomorrow)
b. Japanese: Study for tomorrow's Quiz #1. You need to know Greeting Chart #1-9. Study meanings.
c. Social Studies: draw and color illustration for today's notes.
d. DARE: complete "My warning" on page 10. (Due Friday)
e. Scholastic Book Orders: (Due this Friday)

Hi Alyssa!
I'm not sure what the Science homework is because no one wrote it on the board. You can post a question for Mrs. Kaneshiro on her blog. She checks it at 8:00 p.m. Do you have her blog address?
Or, you can call your homework buddy. The science homework will be due on Thursday.

Hi Toni!
On Thursday, each group will select an explorer to research. Please contact your group members to find out which explorer they choose. You can break up the questions among your group members or all of you can answer all of the questions and combine your answers together.
Try to find information about the assigned explorer. You can also use information from your textbook as a source.
