I hope you enjoyed your first DARE class today. Don't forget to read another Kid Biz article this weekend and complete the 5 steps. You should have a total of 3 Kid Biz entries by Monday (1 last week, 2 this week).
Also, please show your parents your communication folder. Have a fantastic weekend! These are your assignments:
I. Language Arts
a. Reading record: read 30 minutes and record pages read. Have a parent initial total pages read and sign homework folder for week #3. (Due Monday)
b. Wordly Wise: 1) In your workbook, complete #2E #8-15. In your composition book, write words #8-15 5x each. 2) On folder paper, make corrections to #2E #1-7 and words if you got any problems wrong. Tape in your Wordly Wise workbook. 3) Study for Monday's Spelling and Vocabulary test. (Due Monday)
c. Reading -- SEE #2: 1) Add information and color pictures for your notes. 2) Complete Part I, Part II and color picture for "Yoshi, The Lantern Maker #2" worksheet. (Due Monday)
*d. Kid Biz: read 2 news articles for this week and complete the 5 steps. Record the information on your Kid Biz sheet. (Alyssa -- record it on folder paper: Date, Name of Article, first mutiple choice score, Did you take poll? Yes or No, Math Activity Score? Did you like the article? Explain why.) (Due Monday)
II. Math
a. Complete "Baseball Card" worksheet Steps 1-10 and Assessment sheet (both sides of w/sheet). (Due Monday)
b. Finish "Math Review" corrections on folder paper (pink sheet) -- Jenna and Ryan. (Due Monday)
III. Other
a. Science: complete #7-10 on purple worksheet. You can use calculator. (Due Tuesday)
b. DARE: complete situation #2. (Due Thursday)
c. Self-Portraits: outline and color. (Due Monday)
d. Entertainment Book: turn in order or return book -- Noah, Kanoa, Michelle, Rebecca, Aya, Kylie and Alyssa.

Do I have to write 2 first drafts for my all about me. Then do I have to choose which draft i like the best.

You just have to write 1 draft for you All About Me. Make sure it is 5 paragraphs -- lead, 3 middle paragraphs (family background, hobbies and future goals) and conclusion. Please study for Monday's Wordly Wise exam.

For your All About Me story, select the lead that you felt was the strongest. Also, please read 3 Kid Biz articles. Select 3 articles that you are interested in. If you did not take the level set test, please do that first.
Record your results on folder paper. Refer to my blog page for recording instructions. Your user name is first name.last name and password is your library number.
Also, for your reading record, total the pages read and have a parent initial total pages read for week #2 and week #3.

Does the article that you are doing have the math question(s)? If it does, then you do not have to do the word search. If it doesn't then do the word search.

You can type out the information. For page 15, it is the sequence of events. What happened first, then second. Please put in details. For the top of page 16, you are doing a story summary. Also, write down what you learned from the story. Try to make a personal connection to what you have read.
