Dear Students,
Thank you for helping the kindergarten students participate in Kids Voting today. :) Also, don't forget to watch tomorrow's General election and Kids Voting results. This election is such a historic event! These are your assignments for today:
I. Language Arts
a. Read 30 minutes and write pages down.
b. Kid Biz: read today's news article and complete 5 steps -- email, activity question, thought question, math and poll. Record results in your reading folder on yellow Kid Biz page. You will record your results on the class poster on Wednesday.
II. Math
a. Mrs. Dela Cruz: worksheet problems #1-18. For problems #9-18, show the steps on folder paper.
b. Mrs. Kaneshiro: no homework.
III. Social Studies
a. Finish writing the summary in your "Cornell notetaking" notes on the information you learned about the Colonial Economies. Use clear descriptions in your summary.
b. Colonial Economies Study Guide: complete the entire guide. Due Wednesday.
Work especially hard on your essay. It should be 5 paragraphs.
--Lead (Share what the colonists had to do when they reached America. Talk about the importance of land, discovering what goods could be manufactured and traded from each region.) The last sentence should be your thesis statement. Example of a thesis statement -- The New England, Middle and Southern colonies specialized and manufactured goods based upon the region's landform, climate and resources.
--Three middle paragraphs (One paragraph on each region. Use transitions to introduce each paragraph. Ex. "First, Second, Third")
-- New England, Middle and Southern Colonies (explain what each region specialized and manufactured, what countries they traded (exported) goods to and why these items were manufactured based upon the region's landform, climate and resources.)
c. Test next week Monday November 10th.
IV. Other

Dear Mrs.Dela Cruz
I forgot to send you a comment over the weekend about my literature sharing folder. I wanted to let you know that I was not able to do it because I had no Encyclopedi Brown books with me. I also tried to go online to find the book but all I got was prices to buy the book & where to buy it. I did find one of the books that I was going to read from online but the book only had 1 or 2 pages. I was wondering if I could share my book on Wednesday?
Sincerely,
Isaiah
Hi Isaiah!
I hope you are feeling better. Yes, you can share your book on Wednesday. Did you need to reborrow the book from our Hokulani library? If so, you can borrow the book during first recess.
Also, don't forget that tomorrow is the picture retaking day and Thursday is the deadline to pay for Camp Erdman. In your communication folder, you have the completed forms. I will go over with you Monday's homework tomorrow. Take Care!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Dela Cruz
