Dear Students,
You created interesting leads for your All About Me stories. Tonight, work on writing your first draft. Write the first 3 paragraphs on the project sheet -- the lead (that you selected), share your family background and hobbies. Remember to use descriptive details. These are your assignments for tonight:
I. Language Arts
a. Reading record: Read 30 mintues and record pages read.
b. Wordly Wise 1E #8-15. Write words 8-15 5x each. Study for tomorrow's practice spelling exam. I will be telling you the definition of the word and you will need to spell the word correctly.
*Friday is your actual spelling and vocabulary exam. For the vocabulary exam, you will need to know the definitions of the words.
c. Writing -- All About Me: write the first 3 paragraphs in your first draft.
II. Math
a. Anno's Magic Seeds -- complete the following 3 problems in your math composition book:
Jack and Alice both ate 1 baked seed. They buried the rest of the seeds in the ground.
1. In the 6th year, how many seeds grew that year?
2. How many seeds did Jack and Alice bury?
3. Create a chart to show Jack's pattern from year 1 (the year he buried both seeds).
III. Science and Social Studies
a. No Homework
IV. Other
a. Entertainment book due Friday.
b. K-drop off: begin tomorrow.

For the writing assignment, did we have to write the lead in the begining. Or could we just do the middle paragraphs? Also were the three paragraphs, hobbies, about the family and what was that last one again? One more thing, did we just have to write it on just one page which said first draft or did we have to write it on both of the pages that said first draft?

Dear Talia,
Begin with the title and the lead that you have selected. When you type it (after the second draft), it will be easier if all parts are together.
After the lead, the second paragraph will be on your family background. Use descriptive words when you share information about your family members -- just like the examples I shared with you today.
The third paragraph is on your hobbies. Focus on 1-2 main hobbies.
When you write the story, use as much space as needed. Tomorrow, you will be writing about your future goals (where you see yourself in 10 years) and your conclusion.
