Dear Students,
One week before Winter Recess! Don't forget to shop and wrap your secret santa gift this weekend. Bring it to school by or before Tuesday. These are your assignments:
I. Language Arts
a. Read 30 minutes and record pages read. Have parents sign week #10 for total pages read and homework page.
b. Wordly Wise 13E #1-7. Write words 1-7 5x each. Test on Tuesday.
c. Kid Biz: read today's news article and record scores.
d. Poetry: write first draft of 2 poems about this topic: What the Holiday (Christmas) means to me. You can choose the type of poem you would like to write. Criteria: minimum 6 lines, poem does not have to rhyme. Brainstorm your ideas on the topic. Use your 5 senses: See, Hear, Taste, Touch and Feel. Then, write poems. Due Monday.
II. Other
a. DARE Essay: typed DARE essay with cover page is due on Monday only for the following students: Kelind, Vincent, Joseph, Taiana, Tony and Isaiah. Everyone else should have turned in their final typed essay today.
b. Wrapped Secret Santa Gift: Due Tuesday. Address the gift tag to your assigned person. On the "from" line, write Secret Santa.

For the poems a Hakiu is 3 lines but you said the max. is 6 lines. So can we do a hakiu?

According to the Kid Biz criteria, the poem has to have 6 lines. The easiest poem to write is a free verse one.
