Winter Break Assignments

Dear Students,
I hope you had a great Christmas and are looking forward to the 2011 new year. Please make sure you have finished all of you Winter Break assignments. I am looking forward to seeing you in school tomorrow Tuesday January 4th. :)

These are your assignments:
I. Language Arts
a. Reading record: read for 30 minutes and record pages read. You will have a parent initial total pages read for the next 3 weeks and sign homework page for week #10. Due Tuesday January 4th.

b. Kid Biz: read a total of 6 news articles and complete 5 steps. Record scores on sheet. Entries #23-28 due Tuesday January 4th.

c. Literature Sharing: read aloud favorite parts of your Myth/Legends book with a parent. Have a parent complete the bottom of 28. Due Tuesday January 4th.

II. Math
a. Mrs. D.C.: 1) make corrections to WB pg. 27 #1-6, TB pg. 110 Set C #3-5. Due January 4th.

b. Mrs. K: Paint by Numbers project. Due Wednesday January 5th.

III. Other
a. Pink slips: if you received one, please get form signed and finish work.

b. Japanese: New Year's Day worksheet. Due on Wednesday January 5th.

c. Show parents communication folder. Due Tuesday January 4th.

Homework Assignments

Dear Students,
I hope you enjoyed today's pizza party. Tomorrow is our Winter Concert! Please wear long pants and a green, red or white shirt. Girls you can also wear a dress. Have your hair tied back.

After lunch, you will be opening your "secret santa" gift. We will also announce the winner of the most creative stocking contest. Please bring a change of clothing.

These are your assignments:
I. Language Arts

Dear Students,
Two more days before Winter Recess! Tomorrow we will be having our Winter Concert rehearsal in the morning. Girls, please have your hair tied back.

We will be having our pizza party during lunch time. If you signed up to bring in a food item, please bring it to school tomorrow. These are your assignments:

I. Language Arts
a. Reading record: read for 30 minutes and record pages read. The genre this month is Myths and Legends.

b. Kid Biz: read 2 news articles and complete 5 steps. Entries #23-28 (total of 6 entries) will be due on Tuesday January 4th.

c. Literature Sharing: complete pages 26-28 (top of 28). Due Thursday. You will read aloud your myth/legend during Winter break.

d. Writing: make final revisions to your story and type the story. Final typed story and colored picture due Thursday.

II. Math
a. Mrs. D.C.: 1) make corrections to Math test and get it signed. 2) complete workbook page 27 #1-6 and textbook page 110 Set C #3-5. 3) study for tomorrow's retest if you received a DP or lower grade. Due tomorrow.

b. Mrs. K: 1) complete TB pg. 307 #104 and pg. 308 all sets (evens only). Due tomorrow.

III. Other
a. Japanese: study for tomorrow's quiz on Let's Introduce #10-16. Complete Hiragana #2 handout. Due tomorrow.

b. Test folder: have a parent sign it and return it on Thursday.

Three more days until Winter Recess! Tonight, please work on revising your Harris Burdick story. You will also need to draw a colored picture of one of the scenes from your story. These are your assignments:

I. Language Arts
a. Reading record: read for 30 minutes and record pages read. The genre is Myths/Legends.

b. Kid Biz: read 2 news articles this week and 4 news articles during the Winter Recess. Entries #23-28 (6 total articles) will be due on January 4th when you return to school.

c. Writing: make final revisions to Harris Burdick story. Draw a colored picture for your story. Final typed story and picture due Thursday.

II. Math
a. Mrs. D.C.: 1) make corrections to TB p. 110.

b. Mrs. K: complete TB pg. 304 #36-40, 63, 64 (if you did not finish), WB pg. 75 (all).

III. Other
a. Japanese: study for test "Let's Introduce" handout #10-16 and complete Hiragana handout #2.

b. Social Studies: type research questions. Completed Research Poster due Wedneday.
